AQ’s origin story is rooted in passion for the Foodservice Equipment and Supplies industry. After college, Kent Motes, Sr. joined his father’s FES dealership, E.H. Thompson. Kent recognized an opportunity to market, quote and sell foodservice equipment better and, most importantly, faster. Then he made it happen. Kent’s big idea started small in a Jacksonville hotel room. Today, AQ is the world’s largest and most comprehensive product database and CPQ software dedicated to the FES industry and is widely-considered the industry standard in technology and innovation. As AQ celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, the same entrepreneurial spirit that drives Team AQ to do better, and be better for you burns brighter than ever.
Kent’s innovative idea came to life. The entire program and database fit on three floppy disks.
As technology improved, so did AQ and in 1997 AQ customers starting receiving product listings on CD.
A huge milestone in AQ history that led to a few more CD’s in our customer’s mailboxes.
As the 2000’s were underway, DVD’s became the norm in our homes and at AQ.
AutoQuotes crossed the pond in 2007, opening an office in Birmingham, United Kingdom called CaterQuotes.
AQ moves to the Cloud with it’s newest version – AQ360.
Kitchen Police was formed to ensure our platform is the most accurate source of data in the industry. Today, we have more than 1,000 detectives helping us maintain the best product resource in the industry
