Risch’s Marketing Support Specialist Matt Meddaugh and Customer Service Coordinator Rebecca Englert visited our offices recently for an AQ Content Review Workshop (CRW). In a two-day CRW, manufacturers meet with our Content staff to go over AQ Catalog features and best practices to optimize their products’ presence in the Catalog. They also meet with our Customer Support and Product Management departments to review AQ’s new capabilities and latest releases. Risch creates an extensive range of customizable products for the front of house (FOH), from menus and check presenters to placemats and signage.
Rebecca has been in customer service for most of her career. She has found a home at Risch doing different functions that ensure customers are cared for and that they understand the almost unlimited ways Risch products can be customized for them. “Risch is very good at playing to their employees’ strengths,” says Rebecca. “They will create positions that specifically target someone’s skill set.” Part of Rebecca’s duties is serving as Risch’s AQ Liaison. She works closely with AQ Content Manager Yvette Hoover so that Risch’s presence in the AQ Catalog is always up-to-date and accurate.
Matt has been in food service or hospitality for his entire working life – from his first job in fast food through bartending to hotel desk service, with other related stops along the way. “Risch saw something in me,” says Matt. “I started in customer service and moved into marketing.” Matt is on AQ daily, and he uses the AQ Catalog and the quoting process to educate customers about Risch. “AQ is a vital gateway between me and our customers,” says Matt. “I can help them through all the different options and choices. If the look they want still isn’t there, we can visualize it ‘close enough’ in AQ and then do a final customization.”

What are some trends Risch is noticing? “Menus are important,” says Matt. “No matter what else your restaurant has, a menu is the one thing all customers see. As with fashions, materials and colors for menus are always changing. Right now we’re getting more calls for unique, one-of-a-kind items.”
One interesting note we had to mention is Matt’s claim to fame. He designed the prop menu covers that were prominently featured in a restaurant scene in the first “Sex and the City” movie.
Thank you, Rebecca and Matt, for coming to our offices. If you’re a manufacturer and would like more information on our Content Review Workshops, please contact your Content Manager for dates and details.
