You may have noticed an update to your AQ toolbar recently. In our December 2019 software update, we introduced new search capabilities to AQ. In case it slipped under your radar, we wanted to share the key features of the new search's functionality that will soon become your default search in AQ on May 13.
WHAT'S NEW ABOUT THE NEW SEARCH?
It’s always been easy to search AQ, but the new search includes some enhancements to help you find what you need faster with new filter capabilities and an improved dimension search. You don’t have to change anything about the way you search - we did the heavy lifting on our end - so it’s easy to start using the new search without missing a beat. You can try the advanced search now using the toggle switch on the right-hand side of the AQ toolbar.
ADVANCED SEARCH = MORE REFINED RESULTS
So, what does “refined results” mean exactly? As we scale the AQ software, we have been making infrastructure updates behind the scenes to enable us to scale the AQ software’s functionality and capabilities faster. What this means for you now, is that the advanced search capabilities will provide more precise results when searching by keywords or by product type. You can also and filter by manufacturer, model number, category names, brand name, property values, and specification to further refine your results.
"NEW SEARCH" WILL BE THE SEARCH SOON!
On May 13, the new search will become your default search. For now, the toggle switch will remain in place so you can flip between the legacy search and the advanced search if you want. Regardless of which search you are in, your view of AQ will remain the same. Soon, the advanced search will become the standard search for all AQ users, but we will give you a heads up before that happens.
