Lynn Burge, Advertising & Promotions Manager for Master-Bilt, has been using AQ for about 20 years. Last week, Lynn visited our offices for an AQ Content Review Workshop (CRW). In a CRW, manufacturers meet with our Content staff to go over AQ Catalog features and best practices to optimize their products’ presence in the Catalog. They also meet with our Customer Support and Product Management departments to review AQ’s new capabilities and latest releases.
Lynn has been with Master-Bilt for 22 years. A graphic designer by training, Lynn answered a Master-Bilt ad for a desktop publisher for sales and marketing. “After I started in sales and marketing we kept hearing about AQ from the dealers,” says Lynn. “They told us we had to be in there. At that time, I remember having a sales meeting and having to explain what AQ was to our personnel. Because of my design education, I was probably the most proficient in computers and programs, so AQ fell my way. We’ve grown with AQ – and now it’s an integral part of the business.”
Lynn explains how Master-Bilt was originally known for ice cream cabinets and has grown to be a full-service provider of refrigeration equipment. We asked Lynn what trends he sees in refrigeration and the FES industry in general.
“Of course, everything is moving toward being more environmentally friendly and energy efficient,” says Lynn. “We’re heavily involved with the EPA’s SNAP – Significant New Alternatives Policy, which will delist some long-used refrigerants. We are working hard to get ahead of the requirements and provide the best solutions for our customers. In foodservice, we’re seeing more food in retail, like convenience stores and even dollar stores. These can provide challenges because of the space constraints and the small design footprints.”
